HIRING: Legal Consultant, Mexico (short term)

The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) is seeking a short-term Consultant to support the Secretariat’s work by reviewing Mexico’s mining and sustainable development regulations against the six themes of the IGF’s Mining Policy Framework (MPF) and conducting a literature review of Mexico’s mining sector. The analysis will serve as input to the upcoming mining sector assessment to be carried out by the IGF at the request of the Mexican government.

It is devoted to optimizing the benefits of mining to achieve poverty reduction, inclusive growth, social development and environmental stewardship. The International Institute for Sustainable Development has served as Secretariat for the IGF since October 2015. Core funding is provided by the Government of Canada.
