The IGF works with more than 80 member governments to strengthen their legal and policy tools to promote good governance in mining. To support this work, we host our Annual General Meeting (AGM)—an event that has grown to become the leading international policy forum on mining and sustainable development.
Each year, the AGM connects key officials from our member countries with mining sector experts from government, academia, industry, civil society, and international organizations to promote knowledge sharing, peer learning, and best practices from around the globe.
The AGM takes on a new theme each year, focused on the key issues facing mining countries. Most recently, the 18th AGM in 2022 focused on Critical Minerals and the Energy Transition.
We would like to thank the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) for hosting the AGM at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
